For this executive spotlight, Club Solutions sat down with Sue Richard, the co-founder of TRIBE Team Training®, to talk about her experiences in the fitness industry.
How did you get your start in the health and fitness industry?
SR: I have been drawn to the industry for as long as I can remember. In my opinion it is one of the few industries in the world where we can share our true passion and at the same time, create a positive influence in many people’s lives. Whether it is one-to-one, in a small team or larger group of people, we have the power to make a difference. Ultimately, I believe we all share the desire to feel good and belong. This is one industry where we can achieve both.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome and how did you overcome it?
SR: All business is a challenge, and all challenges present themselves in different ways. Being someone who loves challenges and finding solutions, I always endeavor to find a way to think about it from a different angle. My favorite expression is, “If nothing changes, nothing changes.” If I see a challenge or something that isn’t working in any given situation, I approach it another way and think outside the box to create a solution. TRIBE was born out of a challenge, and has become a world leading industry solution.
What are the keys to your company’s success?
SR: TRIBE Team Training succeeds because we work tirelessly every minute of every day at providing clubs Small Group Training (what we like to call Small Team Training) solutions. Our values are to be cutting edge, always move forward, and ensure all 3 key stakeholders needs are met. Essentially, we provide value and results. We do this by ensuring that members receive quality training programs that provide measurable results. We ensure that TribeCOACHES have the very best education and support, and lastly, we provide club owners with a turn key solution to increase their non-membership revenue dues by filling the gap between group exercise and PT. As a result, clubs are achieving unprecedented measurable financial results in their stand-alone SGT department.
How does your company differentiate from competitors in the industry?
SR: TRIBE Team Training was born in a club, for clubs. Our expertise is SGT. We understand the challenges of running full service facilities, in an overcrowded market. We know how to create extremely successful stand-alone SGT departments for single club owners, or for a chain of clubs. Plus, our ongoing business support, service, and coaching, puts us well ahead of the rest.
What is your vision for your company’s future?
SR: To continue waking up everyday living and breathing TRIBE Team Training. Ensuring that all our clubs, coaches and members continue receiving the world’s best SGT; day after day, week after week, and year after year.
