Making Waves: 2018 Club Solutions Leadership Retreat Recap

Founded in 1896, the historic Breakers oceanfront resort is an icon for excellence, top-of-the-line amenities and world-class customer service. And recently, it served as the backdrop for the 2018 Club Solutions Leadership Retreat, which brought together 40 health club operators and 16 sponsors for two days of networking, roundtables and fun.

The goal of the event was to bring together a group of like-minded individuals to share best practices and forge connections that will last a lifetime. In that, the 2018 Club Solutions Leadership Retreat was a smashing success.

“The Club Solutions Leadership Retreat is one of the best — if not the best — events of the year,” said Frank Lawrence, CEO of The Athletic Clubs. “It is such an intimate session with 40 key club operators and limited vendors — you get a chance to really connect with them on a personal level. There are many events that try to emulate this, but the format of the retreat allows a much better setting to connect. You are not constantly being sold, rather you’re learning, questioning and trying to get better together. This event is a must-attend, and a regular on my calendar.”

Highlights of the 2018 Club Solutions Leadership Retreat include the Palm Beach Olympics, which tested attendees’ abilities to work well in a group, and six roundtables spanning topics ranging from social media marketing to strategic planning for the year ahead. The group also tested their creative skills during a cake-decorating activity, and gleaned insights from moderator Blair McHaney’s valued commentary.
