Someone once said you cannot see the label of the jar you are in. To recognize where you are, you must acquire a view from outside the jar.
These past few years feel like we have been stuck in a jar and trapped on the proverbial hamster wheel. Not any longer. With the new year here, 2022 is our time as leaders to elevate ourselves and our business, as well as the industry.
Here are some words of wisdom I have heard over the years I believe help set the foundation for our future:

“Nothing can destroy iron but its own rust. Likewise, nothing can destroy you but your own mindset.”
“Disciplined people engage in disciplined thinking and taking disciplined action.”
“Talent sets the floor; character sets the ceiling.” — Bill Belichick
These each remind us that the journey ahead will not be easy, but it will be fruitful. We must focus on the future — or “stick our oars in,” as P.J. Fleck says, and row. Let our compass guide us. Stay committed, disciplined and focused. Put in the work, never quit, never give excuses and never forget our why.
2022 is our year should we choose. Only we can do that. I am sold on the opportunities before us. I hope you all will join me and “elevate” yourself, your actions and your behaviors.
Remember only with new levels of thinking, action and living can we get new levels of results.
