Marcel Kuerzi, the VP of development of EoS Fitness, shares why every new location has a Power Plate integration in order to enhance member recovery and retention.
For Marcel Kuerzi, the vice president of development at EoS Fitness, staying ahead of the curve isn’t just a goal — it’s part of the brand’s DNA.
“In my role, I oversee everything from real estate development to equipment layouts for new facilities,” said Kuerzi, who has been with EOS since its inception in 2015, and in the same role for 25 years.
One of the latest additions to EoS Fitness clubs? Power Plate. The high-tech vibration platform has been a staple in EoS facilities for about five years, helping members prioritize recovery alongside their strength and cardio training.
“Recovery is a hot item right now, and our members are demanding it,” said Kuerzi. “Power Plate is a natural fit — it helps our members maximize recovery and recharge for their next workout.”
The response from members has been overwhelmingly positive. So much so that EoS now installs a Power Plate in every new location. “As of today, we’re at 127 locations, and tomorrow we’ll be at 128,” shared Kuerzi.
The partnership has also been seamless from an operational perspective. “Our rep is accommodating, the process is simple and they’re easy to work with,” he said.
EoS has also taken recovery a step further by incorporating Power Plate into its new stretch program — positioning the equipment in designated stretch areas, known internally as “The Tank” in the middle of the gym floor. “Stretching is another major recovery trend, and pairing it with Power Plate has been a great addition for our members,” said Kuerzi.
For EoS, the integration of recovery-focused solutions like Power Plate is a way to differentiate in a crowded HVLP market. “There’s a lot of competition, and we want to provide something unique that meets our members’ evolving needs,” said Kuerzi. “This has been a great fit for us — and our members agree.”
