Planet Fitness closed out 2025 with continued momentum, reporting strong membership growth, solid same-club sales performance and a steady expansion of its global footprint.

As of December 31, 2025, the fitness brand grew its membership base to approximately 20.8 million members. Full-year system-wide same club sales increased 6.7 percent, reflecting sustained demand for the company’s affordable, high-value fitness offering. Expansion remained a key driver, with Planet Fitness placing equipment in 152 new franchised locations and opening 181 new clubs during the year, including 23 corporate-owned locations. By year’s end, the system totaled 2,896 clubs.

Colleen Keating, CEO of Planet Fitness, said the company exceeded the growth targets it set at the beginning of the year while continuing to strengthen its competitive position. “We delivered strong results in 2025 and exceeded key growth objectives we outlined at the start of the year,” Keating said. “We continue to capture even greater opportunities in the evolving global fitness landscape and deliver value to our stakeholders.”

Keating credited several initiatives for the company’s performance, including franchisees proactively increasing strength equipment in clubs to enhance the member experience and the High School Summer Pass Program, which signed up a record number of participants and further expanded the brand’s reach among younger consumers. She also pointed to a new agreement with franchisees to shift a portion of contributions from the Local Advertising Fund to the National Advertising Fund in 2026, a move designed to accelerate national marketing efforts and drive future member growth.

Looking ahead, Keating said Planet Fitness is well-positioned to meet growing consumer demand for fitness and wellness. “We enter 2026 with a continued focus on redefining our brand promise, enhancing our member experience and optimizing our format to accelerate new club growth as we continue to strengthen our leadership position in the industry,” she said.

Planet Fitness plans to release its full fiscal year 2025 financial results along with its outlook for 2026 on February 24, 2026.
