Salt Room: How Fitness Clubs Are Getting Salted

How a salt room can increase profits, build an engaging member experience, and set you up as a fitness destination.

Fitness clubs across the country are striving to set themselves apart from the competition.

Offering salt therapy will help you create additional value for your members, and when you are ready to add salt therapy, you have multiple options that can be customized to fit your budget and space considerations.

Dedicated Salt Room

With a dedicated salt room, the room itself becomes the destination as well as the treatment. You’ll offer 25- to 45-minute sessions running concurrently which means you’ll be able to host multiple sessions at one time. This maximizes your revenue and gives your members the full salt experience. Offer this for post-workout cooldown and meditation to help your members take care of their mental and emotional health as well as their physical health.

To build this room, you’ll choose the type of salt walls you will have — a focus wall (one full wall), half walls or full walls surrounding the room, or a mix thereof. You’ll determine the theme or decor you want to use, as well as the number of seats you’ll be able to comfortably accommodate and still build the experience you want for your customers.

Multi-Use Salt Room

One of the biggest opportunities for your fitness club is converting one of your rooms into a multi-use room — adding salt to a service you already offer. Your new salted service will be a premium service, or an optional upgrade, generating more revenue per square foot of the particular room that you choose to use for salt therapy.

Your new multi-use salt room can be as simple as adding a halogenerator to a room where you already offer yoga, massage, meditation, reiki, etc. which will give your customers the full relaxation experience.

Salt Booth

If you have only a small amount of space available but still want to offer salt therapy to your customers, a salt booth is the small-space answer.

When it comes to square footage, simply installing a plug-and-play salt booth takes as little as a 4-by-4 space. It’s a 10-minute touchless service that requires minimum labor and your consumption of salt costs just pennies a day.

With options to match nearly any use, a salt booth is a completely self-contained unit, meaning you won’t require any upgrades or changes to your existing buildout. This will give your customers the therapy they need and want while keeping the rest of your space as-is.

Adding salt therapy to your fitness club allows you to:

  •  Incorporate a great wellness modality that helps treat respiratory issues and skin conditions.
  •  Attract new customers.
  •  Cross-market with your current services.

But the biggest benefit to adding salt therapy to your fitness club is that you can generate over $6,000 per month in pure profit.

Stay ahead in the fitness industry with exclusive updates!
