Cater to Your Young Adult Members

With all the events in our lives, things can be overwhelming, especially for those who are fresh out of college or a new parent. From going to work, running errands and taking care of kids, it can be difficult for people to find time to do something for themselves. This includes taking care of their health. Being healthy is one of the most important things people can do for themselves, so why is it often forgotten about? It is time for you to help adults, both young and old, take back their health.

Offer nutrition classes. Fitness is not the only important aspect of leading a healthy lifestyle. Learning to eat right is just as, if not more, important. Offer members nutrition classes to stress the importance of healthy eating. You can even offer monthly cooking classes to teach your members how to prep meals for the whole family. Being able to fuel the body with proper nutrients will allow the brain and body to succeed personally and professionally.

If offering nutrition classes is not an option, provide handouts and email monthly newsletters to your members. These can include recipes, a grocery list and simple habits to consider when living a healthy lifestyle.

Equip members with fitness supplies. When life is coming at members from a million different directions, it is easy to forget to pack basic fitness necessities, such as headphones or yoga mats. It may be difficult for young parents to step away for an hour to go to the gym, so going back home to retrieve fitness items and driving all the way back may not be an option. Instead, give them 24/7 access to these supplies through supply lockers. Locker sizes can vary, so you can provide members with both large and small supplies.

Provide 24/7 access to healthy snacks, beverages and supplements. When there does not seem to be a lot of time during the day, it is easy for people to want to stop at a fast food restaurant on their way home from the gym. Unfortunately, easy is not always better. Consider providing healthy, low-cost food, beverages and snacks, such as protein powder and protein bars, for your members.

Offering healthy snacks and beverages for purchase on-site will provide an additional revenue stream for your club. If you don’t have the staff coverage or want to incur additional labor costs to handle customer transactions, supply dispensers and supply lockers are the perfect solutions. These items are easy to use and available to your members 24/7. These unmanned micro-retail stores can even be integrated with your point-of-sale system, such as ABC Financial, making implementation seamless with your club’s existing operations.

These simple tips can make your fitness center more welcoming for people of all ages and help your members take back their health.

Stay ahead in the fitness industry with exclusive updates!
